How to Walk from Russell Square to Euston Station for the Warner Bros. Studio Tour

If your tour includes the Warner Bros. Studio Tour with train and shuttle bus from Euston Station, you may wonder how to get to Euston Station in the first place. Good news: it’s a simple, straight walk from Russell Square — about 0.6 miles (1 km), taking 15–20 minutes at a relaxed pace.

This guide shows the walking route, what to expect at Euston Station, and how to take the train and shuttle bus smoothly.

Walking Route: Russell Square → Euston Station

Exit Russell Square Station.
Turn left and continue straight along the main road.
Pass the Royal National Hotel on your left.
Continue walking until you reach a large intersection.
Cross the street. Euston Station will appear ahead.

Distance: 0.6 miles / 1 km
Time: 15–20 minutes

The road can be narrow in sections, so it’s easier if you avoid large luggage.

Inside Euston Station

Head to the main concourse and look for the large electronic departure boards.
When you arrive early, only the destination and platform number may be displayed.
As the departure time approaches, more detailed information appears on the screen.

There is no ticket gate when boarding. Simply go to the platform when announced.

Train to Watford Junction

Your ticket will show:
London Euston → Watford Junction

Trains may depart from different platforms (often Platform 5, but always check the board).

Board the train about 3–5 minutes before departure.
Printed tickets are easier to handle than searching on your phone.

Watford Junction → Shuttle Bus

At Watford Junction, pass through the ticket gate by scanning your train ticket.
Once outside, follow the signs to the Studio Tour Shuttle Bus.

Some guidebooks mention a bus fare, but you can usually ride by showing your Studio Tour ticket.

Check the return shuttle schedule here.
Return buses may run only every 30 minutes.

Studio Entrance & Audio Guides

• Visit the ticket window if necessary.
• Pass through the security checkpoint (bags and pockets scanned).
• Inside the entrance lobby, there are free multilingual audio guides.

If you are not confident in English, we highly recommend taking an audio guide.

Enjoy the Tour

Even if you are not a Harry Potter fan, the film sets and atmosphere are impressive.
The Great Hall, in particular, feels like stepping directly into the movie world.

The counter near the museum’s main entrance offers free language-specific audio guide headsets. If you’re not confident in your English, I strongly recommend you borrow a Japanese headset without hesitation!

I confess that I didn’t borrow one for a couple of trivial reasons: I was already halfway into the entrance and didn’t want the hassle of turning back, and I simply thought, “I don’t like having something attached to my ear.”

As a result, in the very first room, the guide immediately launched into instructions in super-fast English.

When I finally realized, “Oh, everyone must have a headset in their native language, right?” it was already too late. We were the only foreigners who weren’t wearing one.

We managed to get by just by following the crowd, so it wasn’t a total disaster. But if I had just borrowed it, I definitely would have enjoyed the exhibits far more deeply. I’ll never forget the cold sweat of that panic and regret! 😅
